The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has expanded its payment channels to include the Apple Pay and Samsung Pay applications. The smart payment service was initially introduced last month and is now deployed at the department’s headquarters and all real estate registration trustee offices.
“In light of the wide use of smart phones across our society, it has become essential to adopt this technology to facilitate procedures in daily business activities,” said Saad Abdulla Alhamadi, director of the DLD’s finance department.”
The service is in line with the DLD’s switch to paperless systems, reducing the use of cash and cheques. The DLD is one of the government entities involved in phase one of the Dubai Paperless Strategy.
